The weighty title of Tronik Youth’s second single ‘Laugh Cry Live Die’ seemed to sum up the life experience of a person and at first presented quite a challenge. We avoided any idiosyncratic visual-
isations and developed this idea to adopt a set of simplified symbols and represented these four states by photographing human hands, each expressing one word from the title. On the reverse and on the record sticker the hands came back in to ‘hold’ the barcode or point to the hole in the centre of the vinyl.
