Tapestry of Dalston

The lovely Patternity asked us to be in their inaugural, pattern inspired show titled “Tapestry of Dalston”. We looked at ‘pattern’ as being defined as: a representative sample and an arrangement of repeated parts. Trying to explore the idea of how living and working in the same area had affected our routines we developed the idea of how when you analyse any random sample when for long enough (in this case 1 year) patterns will become apparent. We visualised an imaginary week which included visits to local restaurants, pubs and clubs using only typographic styling and a few small details. After creating this week and then repeating it exactly 52 times to fill a year, the patterns in our behaviour started to emerge.
