Bill Viola

Blain Southern approached us to design and produce branding and collateral for the exhibitions at their recently launched space in London. The brief was to evolve the look and feel with each new show to reflect the values and ideas within the artists work as opposed to maintain a strict corporate identity.
The first show, ‘Bill Viola — The Quintet of the Unseen’, consisted
of a single large scale video piece that depicts the unfolding expressions of five actors over time in super slow motion video. His works focus on the ideas behind fundamental human experiences such as birth, death and aspects
of consciousness and draw visual reference from religious and devotional art. Not wanting to show the video work in print we produced an invite with a simple and subtle logotype heavily blind embossed into smooth grey stone-like stock making the unseen is just visible. The shows identity was also applied to a vip dinner invite and signage within the space itself.
